Rep. Abe Hamadeh (R-Ariz.), a U.S. Army intelligence officer and former prosecutor, entered Congress in 2025 after winning Arizona’s 8th district. The son of Syrian immigrants, he is among the first Middle Eastern-Americans to represent Arizona.
Hamadeh is a vocal supporter of Israel, calling it America’s closest ally in the region, and has pledged to strengthen U.S.–Israel security cooperation. He has criticized Hamas and Iran’s proxies, framing them as existential threats to both Israel and U.S. interests.
He has also advocated for tougher U.S. action against drug cartels, sometimes linking them rhetorically to terrorist networks in the Middle East.
On foreign policy, Hamadeh highlights his military service in Saudi Arabia and stresses the importance of deepening the Abraham Accords to counter Iran and promote regional stability.
