ICYMI: Hamas fears new militia in Gaza challenging its rule

The terror group has issued warnings about a so-called "new Palestinian militia" operating in Gaza’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood, led by 53-year-old Hossam Al-Astal (“Hussam al-Astal”).

The group is reportedly aligned with Abu Shabab’s organization and seen as a potential threat to Hamas’s dominance in the Strip.

Al-Astal, who has publicly criticized Hamas, posted a photo on Facebook showing masked gunmen, captioned with the message:

“There is no place for Hamas dogs.” The rare defiance highlights growing tensions and the emergence of rival armed factions inside Gaza.
