The Joint Chiefs of Staff exercise "Strong Fist" began today (Sunday) and will last for about two weeks. The exercise will simulate multi-arena combat in air, sea, land, spectrum and cyber.
As part of the exercise, the IDF's ability to prepare for a prolonged campaign will be tested in several arenas.
Regular and reserve IDF forces, from all commands, arms and wings, will take part in the exercise. The forces will practice dealing with challenges and explosive events in several arenas at the same time.
As part of the exercise, there will be a command exercise of the Northern Command. In the first week, the exercise will focus on practicing the "Galil" division (91), and in the second week on practicing the "Gesh" division (36).
Operative plans will also be practiced in civilian areas and the effort to save lives on the home front. In addition, the operation of spectral control cells will be practiced for the first time this year, whose role is to formulate a situational picture in the field of spectrum warfare.
As part of the exercise, a lively movement of the security forces will be felt: military and armored vehicles, pilot and sailing vessels.
The exercise was planned in advance as part of the training schedule for 2023.
