Dalia Ziada, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs, is breaking the rules of the game in the Arab world, warning that the real threat to the Middle East is not Israel – but Iran and radical Islam.
“Iran does not support the Palestinians – it uses them to sow chaos and dominate the Arab world,” she says, also attacking Hamas for “sacrificing the people of Gaza in the name of an ideology of hatred.”
In a world where criticism of Hamas can be deadly, Ziada speaks with a clear voice: “Hamas is not fighting for Palestine – it is fighting to destroy Israel.”
She rejects the aura surrounding the organization’s leaders and calls the ceasefire talks “a farce designed to save Hamas from defeat. We must identify those who truly threaten regional stability, and stop confusing a struggle for liberation with murderous terrorism.”
