NEWSRAEL: As if Israel's Defense Minister, Gantz didn't have enough to do with the many military issues at hand these weeks, he is also doing the work of Foreign Minister Lapid (who is, under the coalition agreement, due to become Prime Minister) meeting with Abbas, and now King of Jordan) 

Defense Minister Benny Gantz met today (Wednesday) with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II.

At the meeting, Gantz emphasized the strategic importance of the close relations between Israel and Jordan, which contribute to the security of the two countries. The Minister of Defense and the King of Jordan discussed security and policy issues, and the Minister of Defense, Gantz, thanked the King for his efforts to maintain stability in the region and to strengthen peace and normalization. The Minister of Defense welcomed the improvement of relations between Israel and Jordan since the formation of the government, and expressed his commitment to further strengthen security, economic and civilian ties.

The meeting was attended by the Israeli side: the head of the political-security division, Zohar Felty, the chief of staff, Maayan Israeli, and the military secretary, Brigadier General Yaki Dolph. The Jordanian side was attended by: And the Director of His Majesty's Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan.
