IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited southern Lebanon today (Wednesday) in the al-Khiyam sector, alongside senior Northern Command leadership and field commanders from both regular and reserve units.
During the visit, Zamir conducted an operational assessment, received briefings from division and brigade commanders, and met with battalion commanders actively engaged in combat. He also toured a Hezbollah underground terror tunnel discovered approximately 25 meters beneath a children’s clothing store.
Zamir emphasized that IDF forces will continue operating to defend Israeli communities and eliminate all threats. “Your mission is to remove every threat from above our communities and our forces,” he told commanders. “All IDF capabilities are at your disposal. There are no limitations in using force for this purpose.”
He revealed that since the start of Operation “Lion’s Roar,” more than 2,000 Hezbollah terrorists have been eliminated, and stressed that Israel will continue to deepen the damage to the terror organization.
