BREAKING: After 759 days, the bodies of Colonel Asaf Hamami and Sergeant Oz Daniel have been returned to Israel for burial

Col. Hamami, commander of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade, was killed defending Kibbutz Nirim on October 7 and his body abducted by Hamas.

Col Hamami was among the first to reach the battle zone, rushing to defend civilians amid Hamas’s onslaught. He was 40 years old and left behind a wife, three children, parents, and a brother.

Sgt. Oz Daniel, 19, a fighter in the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion, was killed defending communities along the Gaza border that same morning.

His body was also kidnapped by Hamas and held in Gaza until yesterday.
