Candace Owens accuses the Republican Party of ignoring its base by focusing on 'radical Islam' instead of attacking Israel and so-called “Zionist influence” in Washington.
Candace Owens has sparked renewed backlash after publishing a series of statements portraying Israel as the central problem in US Middle East policy, while dismissing concerns about radical Islam as manufactured and politically motivated.
Owens claimed that Republican voters are “way more concerned about Israel” than Islamist extremism, arguing that warnings about radical Islam are an artificial narrative pushed by party elites and online influencers. She further accused GOP leadership of refusing to acknowledge what she called a “Zionist elephant in the room,” asserting that future political messaging about threats such as ISIS would be cynical and insincere.
In one of her most inflammatory remarks, Owens described what she termed the “Israeli occupation of D.C.,” language widely criticized as echoing classic antisemitic tropes that portray Jewish or pro-Israel influence as secretly controlling governments. Critics say her framing deliberately shifts blame away from Islamist terrorism while singling out Israel as a malign force in American politics.
