The Shin Bet thwarted a kidnapping attack by a terrorist squad in the Jordan Valley town of Aqabat Jaber; a pit was located where the squad planned to hide hostages.
In addition, a weapon and ammunition were seized with which they planned to carry out an attack against IDF forces.
It was allowed to be published that in a joint activity of the Shin Bet, the IDF and the Israel Police, the Shin Bet arrested for investigation Muhammad Trik, 19 years old, and Amin Katash, 20 years old, residents of Aqabat Jaber near Jericho, on suspicion of having formed a terrorist cell whose purpose was to carry out attacks against Israeli forces and the citizens of Israel.
Their interrogation by the Shin Bet revealed that the two formed a squad, purchased weapons, recruited more, and also planned an attack to kidnap Israelis and to shoot and bomb IDF forces.
Further in the investigation it emerged that the squad dug a hole in which they planned to hide the hostages taken. The opening of the pit was masked and located near the house of one of the squad members.
As part of the investigation, a "Carlo" type weapon, clips, a vest, radios and military uniforms that were in the squad's possession were handed over.
Another squad member was arrested by the Palestinian security forces.
Last week, indictments were submitted to the military court, in which the suspects were accused of serious security offenses.
Watch the video of the pit dug by the squad in order to hide the people they planned to kidnap - it seems that there was significant inspiration here from the Gaza Strip.
