Uncertainty grows around Iran’s leadership amid US proposal
One of the reasons Iran has not yet responded to the American proposal may be internal confusion at the highest levels of the regime.
According to a report by Yoni Ben Menachem, Mojtaba Khamenei—son of Iran’s supreme leader—is reportedly making efforts to remain in hiding to avoid being targeted.
As a result, US officials are increasingly uncertain whether clear directives are being issued from the top, or whether Iranian officials are being forced to “guess” leadership intentions without specific guidance.
