8:00 AM - Jordan Valley attack: Terrorist managed to enter military post
The terrorist was wearing a bulletproof vest and armed with a rifle. He ambushed the troops outside the guard tower and opened fire on one of the soldiers who left the tower. Later he ran into the compound while continuing to fire.

8:15 AM - Netanyahu considering appointing Ron Dermer to lead hostage negotiations
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to appoint Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer to lead the negotiations on the second phase of the hostage deal, even though Dermer disapproves of direct contact with Qatar.

8:30 AM - Israeli criminal fugitive arrested in Thailand
Police in Thailand have arrested an Israeli criminal fugitive who is suspected in a stabbing last September in Tel Aviv. He was arrested in Pattaya City in Thailand.

9:00 AM - Report: 15 freed Palestinian prisoners reached Turkey
Qatari outlet Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday that 15 Palestinian prisoners freed as part of the hostage deal with Hamas have arrived in Turkey.

9:30 AM - Illegal infiltrator arrested after stealing car from north Tel Aviv
A 22-year-old illegal infiltrator from Ramallah was arrested at the end of a police pursuit after he stole a vehicle from north Tel Aviv.
In addition, police caught two residents of Qalqilya, ages 17 and 18, with equipment used to break into cars, including a starter computer, in the Tzhala neighborhood in north Tel Aviv. The two were taken for questioning and this morning, the police will ask the court to extend their detention.

9:45 AM - Report: President Sisi to meet with Trump on Feb. 18th to discuss transfer of Gazans
Egyptian sources told Al-Arab Al-Jadeed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will fly to the US to meet with President Donald Trump on February 18th.
According to the sources, Sisi will present “a comprehensive Egyptian plan to rebuild and rehabilitate Gaza without transferring the population.”

10:00 AM - Palestinian Arab report: IAF struck town of Tammun in Samaria
Palestinian Arabs are reporting that IAF aircraft conducted an airstrike in the town of Tammun. The town is located near Tayasir, where a terrorist opened fire on IDF soldiers earlier in the morning.

10:30 AM - Lebanese reports: LAF forces begin deploying in Taybeh, in southern Lebanon

10:45 AM - Rep. Andrew Harris: 'Israel is for Jews, from the river to the sea'
Rep. Andrew Harris (R-MD 1st District) sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supporting the Knesset resolution against a Palestinian state.

11:00 AM - Billion dollar deal: Trump planning defense aid package for Israel
The billion-dollar defense deal includes two central components: 4,700 guided half-ton bombs worth a total of 700 million dollars, as well as armored bulldozers worth 300 million dollars.

11:15 AM - Syrian leader al-Julani warns Israel in an interview with The Economist that its military operation in Syria "will cause a lot of trouble in the future”.

11:30 AM - Justice Minister Yariv Levin declined Monday to sign the official announcement of the appointment of Justice Isaac Amit as the new president of the Supreme Court in the state gazette, with the director of the Israel Courts Administration, Judge Tzachi Uziel, signing instead.  
Usually, it would be Levin, as justice minister, who signs such announcements in the gazette, the official register of formal state processes, but he has vowed to boycott Amit as president of the Supreme Court in protest at how the court, sitting as the High Court of Justice, ordered him to hold a vote for a new president after he refused to do so for over a year.

11:45 AM - Shlomo Filber, a state witness in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial, has filed a lawsuit demanding millions of shekels in compensation from former attorney general Avichai Mandelblit and former state attorney Shai Nitzan, as well as several state agencies, for sexual assault he says he suffered before agreeing to testify.
In the suit, filed on Sunday to the Lod-Central District Court, Filber demanded NIS 6 million ($1.7 million) in compensation for sexual assault he says he was subjected to during a body search conducted by the Israel Prison Service (IPS).
