New details on a dogfight between an IAF F-16 and 2 Russian Su-27s in 1996

Israeli media published new information about a dogfight between an Israeli F-16 fighter jet and two Russian Su-27 fighter jets on January 27, 1996.

1996: an alarm was sounded at the Ramat David base and two F-16D planes of the 109 squadron took off towards a suspicious target.

The two planes "intercepted" a Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jet approaching the border and forced the plane to leave.

Later an alarm was sounded again. This time one F-16 was sent to intercept the target. This time it was two Su-27 planes, also armed.

The Russian jets, despite many attempts, were unable to shake off the Israeli, which could have fired, but didn't.

The Russians realized that they had "lost the battle" they left.
