Has Qatar "taken over" Egypt?

Qatar and Egypt until about three years ago, bitter rivals are today in a different place not only as mediators but also in their bilateral relations.

It seems that Qatar will take full advantage of Egypt's economic distress, which needs every dollar.

On Wednesday, the Egyptian government announced cooperation with Qatar in an investment project that it defined as "extremely important".

In a statement by the Egyptian government, it was stated that this is a large real estate project on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. No further details were given.
