Reports from Tehran indicate growing public anger after the Iranian regime confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, has been chosen to lead the Islamic Republic.
According to videos circulating on social media, Iranian citizens in several neighborhoods shouted from balconies and windows during the night, chanting a new slogan: “Death to Mojtaba Khamenei!” The chants echo similar nighttime protests heard during previous anti-regime demonstrations across the country.
The reaction reflects growing frustration among many Iranians over what critics call a dynastic succession within a regime that has ruled since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Mojtaba, a cleric closely tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, had long been viewed as a possible successor but his appointment has sparked debate both inside Iran and internationally.
