The spy satellites reveal: Ghost ships are transporting weapons from North Korea to Russia

North Korea continues its arms shipments to Russia via "ghost" ships, despite previous US warnings against these shipments, as the White House believed it was supplying Russia with weapons for use in the Ukraine war.

Experts spoke with the American "Bloomberg" agency about the continuation of these shipments, which "fuel the conflict in Ukraine and contribute to strengthening the failed economy" of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and noted that the shipments pass between the port of Najin and the Russian port of Danube, the distance between which is No more than 180 km.

Satellite images showed that during the period from October to December, ships flowed continuously carrying hundreds of containers that were loaded and unloaded between the two ports.

"Bloomberg" noted that those ships that dock in Benjin shut off the international maritime transmitters and receivers that determine their location, becoming "ghost ships" during this short journey.

The White House said on October 13 that North Korea had "delivered more than a thousand containers" of military equipment and ammunition to Russia, given that this equipment "will be used in Ukraine."

A chart was published that showed the journey of several containers from a port in North Korea to a Russian warehouse near the Ukrainian border.

The shipments are transported by railways for a distance of thousands of kilometers, to a warehouse in the town of Tohortsk, located 290 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Pyongyang has been banned from selling weapons for more than 15 years, under UN resolutions that Russia helped impose, although it still sells weapons to countries such as Iran, Syria and Uganda, according to Bloomberg.

Experts estimate that in recent months shipments by ships have continued.

North Korea has one of the largest stockpiles of ammunition in the world, most of which can be used by Russian weapons on the front line in the Ukraine war, according to South Korea's intelligence service.

The weapons expert said that "about 6 weeks after revealing the route of these shipments, I have not seen any sign of a slowdown in the pace of shipments."

He stated that he "identified 4 types of weapons that were part of the shipments, namely 120 mm mortar bombs, 122 mm and 152 mm artillery shells and 122 mm rockets, based on the analysis of the weapons appearing on the front of the war in Ukraine". According to Bloomberg.

It is worth noting that North Korea and Russia are historical allies, and each is under international sanctions. Sanctions were imposed on Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine, and on Pyongyang for its nuclear weapons tests.

The White House has previously said that any arms exports from North Korea to Russia "would violate several UN Security Council resolutions, including resolutions adopted by Russia itself."

Even if they were not considered sovereign nations… They still do as they please because they’re 👺 evil dictatorships

So what if the arms exports violate security council resolutions? The security council has no authority. Russia and North Korea are both sovereign nations. They both do as they see fit.
