Reports indicate that two Iranian diplomats have requested political asylum in Western countries, signaling possible internal pressure within Iran’s diplomatic corps. According to the reports, the requests were made by diplomats stationed in Denmark and Australia

Ali Reza Sobhati, who was serving at Iran’s embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Mohammad Foranjaf, stationed at Iran’s embassy in Canberra, Australia, have both reportedly sought asylum from the governments of the countries where they were posted.
