A sharp shift is taking place at the highest political levels in Jerusalem. According to updated assessments delivered over the weekend, the much-discussed International Stabilization Force for Gaza (ISF) is effectively dead.
Not a single country is willing to risk deploying troops into Gaza — including Azerbaijan, Israel’s close partner and the latest state to inform Washington and Jerusalem that it will not participate.
In light of this collapse, the Prime Minister informed cabinet ministers that he has reached an understanding with the Americans: if no external force enters Gaza, Israel will take full responsibility and fully demilitarize the Strip itself.
Additionally, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has already begun drafting an operational plan to liberate the “red zone” of Gaza — the remaining territory still under Hamas control. Zamir reportedly listed five non-negotiable principles that Israel must never retreat from in any future scenario, ensuring that Hamas cannot reconstitute itself or regain strategic footholds.
