The Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petah Tikva conducted two life-saving organ transplant marathons within 48 hours, benefiting seven children, the hospital said on Sunday.
During the first marathon, a liver transplant was performed on an 11-year-old girl, while two kidney transplants were carried out for girls aged 10 and 11. A complex heart and lung transplant saved the life of a 14-year-old girl.
The second marathon included liver transplants for a 3.5-year-old and a kidney transplant for two children aged 4 and 5. Additionally, three liver and one kidney transplants were performed in January 2025, bringing the total to 11 children saved this year.
