Officials in Lebanon claim that the Iranian Foreign Minister's visit to Beirut about a week ago was "disappointing" for the host country.
According to the same sources, during the visit, Iranian Minister Amir Abdallahian met with Speaker of the Parliament Navia Berri.
The latter raised the issue of the rehabilitation of southern Lebanese villages that have been affected by the fighting since October 7 and asked to know whether Iran would assist in financing the rehabilitation as it did after the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
According to the reports, the minister was "positive" in his approach but did not go into details about how much money Iran would be willing to invest in the reconstruction of the south, if at all. This answer disappointed Berry and his men.
In short, Iran, through its proxy Hezbollah, led to the destruction of the villages in the south, but does not intend to help them except by talking....
NEWSRAEL: The Iranian FM was vague with his answer, and most likely said something like: "It depends on if Trump wins the 2024 election or not."
