An Iranian cargo plane "Ilyushin" landed at dawn, today, at the "Hamiim" air base, which is under Russian control, on the Syrian coast.
The plane appeared on air navigation sites after entering Syrian territory for a short time, and disappeared after crossing the airspace of Homs Governorate. This also happened during the return flight after more than two hours, which appeared in Syrian airspace before turning off its radar devices.
The Syrian "Voice of the Beer" website stated that an Iranian Ilyushin plane arrived from the Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, and received permission to land at the Haimei air base days after coordination between the Russian side and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
He added that generals from the Revolutionary Guards participated in the operations of unloading the plane and transporting its contents using cargo vehicles belonging to the Russian forces.
The same plane has previously delivered weapons and ammunition to pro-Iranian militias in Syria dozens of times over the past few years, and its landing at Damascus and Aleppo airports has resulted in these airports being bombed more than once.
The landing of the plane came hours after Israel bombed weapons depots of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the Seida Zainab area, south of Damascus, air defense systems and radar systems in the countryside of Suwayda district and other systems in Deir ez-Zor.
