From Gang Life to Jewish Life: A True Story of Redemption
During evening prayers at a local synagogue, he looked like any other Orthodox Jew—black hat, tzitzit showing, fluent in Hebrew, calm in the rhythm of prayer.
But behind that calm was a life that defied imagination.
He was raised in a broken home. No father figure. Fell into gangs. Ran weapons. Robbed dealers. By 19, he was sentenced to 24 years for armed robbery.
“I didn’t care,” he said. “Gangsters belong in prison. I thought I was home.”
