Since 2022, 21 prosecutors backed by left-wing billionaire George Soros for their support of radical "criminal justice reform" have been replaced by "tough-on-crime" prosecutors, according to a recent report.
As of June 2022, there were approximately 75 Soros-backed prosecutors in the U.S., but their policies have been criticized for contributing to a national crime surge, leading to a voter backlash—even among Democrats.
The Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) reports that since 2022, these more stringent prosecutors have replaced their Soros-affiliated counterparts across the country, with recent election results supporting this trend.
Notable ousted officials include former Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx, who oversaw Chicago, and Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price, who was recalled last month after just 18 months in office. The report also highlights the replacements of former Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón and former Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.
