Lebanese TV host Marcel Ghanem delivered a striking message during a March 26, 2026 appearance, stating that the Lebanese people are not seeking civil strife—but peace, including with Israel.
Ghanem emphasized that while conflict has defined decades of regional history, it has not brought lasting solutions. He argued that complicated conflicts like Lebanon’s cannot be resolved through war alone, suggesting that a different path is necessary for stability.
Addressing tensions between the two peoples, Ghanem acknowledged that not every Lebanese citizen would embrace normalization in the same way. However, he stressed that many Lebanese are increasingly frustrated with the current situation, particularly what he described as being “killed for Khamenei’s Iran.”
He sharply criticized Iran’s role in Lebanon, accusing it of prioritizing its nuclear negotiations at the expense of southern Lebanon and areas near the Litani River. Raising a pointed question, Ghanem asked: “When did we become Iran’s puppet?”
