Yesterday a reporter for the Syrian news network Step in Quneitra reported that the Lebanese Hezbollah militia is preparing defense plans, in case they are forced to fend off a possible attack by Israeli forces in the sector.
A Step reporter said the Syrian regime's municipality of Quneitra had demolished some of the buildings recently renovated by al-Ba'ath citizens (also known as "the new Quneitra"), noting that "this was done under orders from Lebanese Hezbollah, to improve their field of vision on the border with Israel."
He added that the municipality's heavy excavation equipment and bulldozers began demolishing the buildings under orders of local Hezbollah members and regime forces on the pretext that it was a violation and damage to government public property.
A source confirmed to Step that the Quneitra municipality informed the owners of these houses in the afternoon that it would send experts over the next week to compensate them for the demolition, ranging from 50,000 to 75,000 Syrian pounds- but not before they sign a commitment not to rebuild their homes.
