Prime Minister’s Office: Since the weekend, IDF forces have been carrying out a wide-scale operation to locate the abducted fallen soldier, Master Sergeant Ran Gvili, of blessed memory.
The operation is taking place in a cemetery in the northern Gaza Strip and involves extensive search activities while making full use of all the intelligence information at our disposal. This effort will continue as long as necessary.
The State of Israel is determined to bring Ran Gvili, of blessed memory, to burial in Israel. His family is being continuously updated and is aware of the details of the operation.
IDF: "The operation may last from several hours to several days. Intelligence on the location has been in the system’s possession for some time, and was recently reinforced following intelligence operations."
