The Pentagon reveals new details on the airstrike against Iran's nuclear sites โ were ground forces on-site during the attack?
The United States has revealed new details about a covert military operation targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer. The mission involved stealth B-2 bombers and marked the first combat use of GBU-57 "bunker buster" bombs.
General Dan Keane, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke at a press conference with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, calling the operation “highly classified and complex,” with only a handful of officials aware of it.
According to Keane, the B-2 bombers entered and exited Iranian airspace without being detected. “We have no information indicating American aircraft fired weapons during their approach or exit... Iranian fighter jets didn’t scramble, and their air defenses appeared unaware of our presence. We maintained the element of surprise,” he said.
