"Four years ago today I packed my life in five suitcases and moved to Israel. One month ago I married my best friend, whom I would never have met if fate hadn't placed us on the same Taglit-Birthright Israel trip in 2014.

 

Every year on this day I’m reminded of the courage I had to pick up and leave everything behind for a dream - I wasn’t happy where I was and I knew if I didn’t make a change right then and there I would never know what opportunities could be waiting for me.

 

I left my friends, family, and a comfortable job behind for the unknown - to try out a new relationship, to live in a country where I didn’t know anyone or the language. I was scared to say the least!

 

I couldn’t have imagined I’d be where I am four years later: working in an amazing women-led firm designing some of the largest campuses in Israel for clients like Microsoft, and Intel, leading projects and working in Hebrew - a language I didn’t know how to speak one word of when I got here(!), supported by amazing coworkers whom I’m lucky enough to call friends, and friends and family that hold me up and keep me laughing.

 

Moral of the story: If you’re thinking about it... GO FOR IT. You can only grow from these experiences."
