According to his statements, the United States suffered what he described as a “clear failure” in dealing with Iran, while Tehran emerged from the confrontation stronger and more influential than before. He argued that Iran is now positioned to become an independent global power in both the arms and energy sectors.

However, the most striking part of his comments was his message directed at the Gulf states themselves. Hamad bin Jassim said that Gulf countries should learn from Iran’s experience and achievements, and gradually reduce their dependence on Western countries — especially in the fields of energy and military defense.

His remarks may further fuel concerns in Washington and among pro-Western Gulf circles that some regional voices are increasingly promoting a strategic shift away from reliance on the US security umbrella.
