News from the Wall Street Journal, very significant, one that could be a game changer in the chess game being played against the Iranians:
The Biden administration is preparing to send large shipments of smart bombs to Riyadh, and these shipments, worth more than $750 million, come after the Biden administration's decision to lift the ban on arms sales to the kingdom from 2021 due to its participation in the Yemen war.
According to the information, the shipments will include 3,000 GBU-39 small-diameter bombs and 7,500 Paveway IV laser-guided bombs. GBU-39 smart bombs, known as "small diameter bombs", are considered one of the most important precision weapons in the arsenal of military aircraft, as they allow carrying a larger number of bombs thanks to their small size and light weight of about 250 pounds (110 kg).
These bombs are used for targets located in fixed locations such as fuel depots and bunkers, with the advantage of reducing peripheral damage and increasing the effectiveness of airstrikes.
