Major General (Ret.) Yiftach Ron Tal, former commander and memeber of the IDF Chiefs' staff, expressed support for Smotrich's appointment as Minister of Defense.
On YNET radio, Ron Tal said that he met with Smotrich: "I was impressed. He is very talented, comes with a solid ideology and is a first-class executive. The security system will be surprised by him for the better".
