After the first phase of the current Trump plan for Gaza — in which all Israeli hostages, both living and deceased, are to be released — comes “Phase 2.”
This next stage, the disarmament of Hamas and the rebuilding of Gaza, is so vague that it has left almost everyone confused.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that the Gaza deal depends on Hamas’ disarmament. The question is: who will actually make that happen? And what will the US — and more importantly, Israel — do if it doesn’t?
None of this seems to bother the countries already planning their role in Gaza’s “day after.” They act as if they are the victors of this war. Among them are open enemies of Israel like Qatar and Turkey, and European states such as Britain and France — who recognized “Palestine” in open defiance of Israel.
