Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel faces additional challenges that require calm, firmness on national security, and continued coordination with the United States.
Netanyahu stressed that Israel’s security interests remain the government’s guiding priority, while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining the strategic relationship with “our American friends.”
“We will restore security to the north,” Netanyahu said, adding that this requires maintaining the security zone in southern Lebanon and ensuring that Israel does not withdraw “as long as Israel’s security needs demand it.”
Looking beyond Lebanon, Netanyahu said Israel remains committed to the central objective that has guided him for much of his adult life: preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
