Security expert warns that while attention is fixed on Gaza, a growing terror threat in Judea and Samaria is being dangerously overlooked.
Lt. Col. (res.) Adv. Maurice Hirsch, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs, is warning that while Israel’s focus remains almost entirely on Gaza, a serious and accelerating threat is developing on another front — Judea and Samaria.
“I woke up this morning and saw a report on the IDF website about rockets being found in Tulkarem — an event that was barely reported,” Hirsch said. “This is the kind of news that should make everyone stop and understand its meaning.”
According to Hirsch, the exclusive focus on Gaza is obscuring the growing danger in Judea and Samaria. “It’s not just Gaza. Judea and Samaria are constantly simmering,” he stressed. “The sense of routine people feel on the street is misleading. The calm we think we’re experiencing is a false calm.”
