It won't be far today that the first "Jewish quarter" will be established in the capital of a fractious country, at least that's what an Arab newspaper claims today. According to the report, the Bahraini authorities have prepared a plan to "Judaize" a part of the capital Manama and this is happening about a month after a senior Bahraini official resigned due to her opposition to Israeli normalization.
There is a plan for a Jewish quarter centered around the synagogue in the old city of. Among other things, old buildings are being purchased, some of them demolished in order to realize this plan, it is reported.
Originally, this program was supposed to start in December 2020, after American officials also offered to participate in the financing of the project in the vicinity of the Jewish synagogue, including the establishment of a Jewish museum, but this did not come to fruition due to the opposition of the person who headed the cultural authority at the time.
