Israel’s Ministry of Defense has signed a $183 million (NIS 570 million) multi-year procurement agreement with Elbit Systems for aerial munitions, aimed at strengthening IDF operational readiness
The ministry said the agreement will expand Israel’s defense industrial base and reinforce the IDF’s capabilities for both the immediate term and the “challenging security decade ahead.”
The procurement is part of a broader Ministry of Defense strategy led by Defense Minister Israel Katz and signed by Director General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, focused on ensuring supply continuity, sustained readiness, and long-term defense independence.
Senior defense officials and Elbit Systems noted that the agreement reflects lessons learned from prolonged multi-front warfare, underscoring the central role of Israel’s defense industries in maintaining air, sea, and ground operational superiority.
