A senior Israeli source told N12: "There is serious concern that Israeli Druze civilians may be abducted by jihadist elements, who would try to use them as bargaining chips to pressure the IDF to withdraw from Syria.

We are preparing for this scenario, though we cannot go into further detail. We urge all Israeli citizens to return home immediately."

In response, the Israeli defense establishment has begun contingency planning for potential rescue operations, should abductions occur.
