Druze Lawmaker Replaces Yoav Gallant in Knesset

Today the Knesset swore in new Likud lawmaker Abed Afif

Abed Afif replaces MK and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who announced his resignation on Wednesday.

Afif’s installation makes him the only Druze MK in the governing coalition.

The 50-year-old Afif lives in the northern Druze village of Yarka. He has been active in the Likud party since the 2000s.
