A secret Hamas document, reportedly found by the IDF on the personal computer of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, was exposed by the German newspaper Bild on September 6, 2024. 

The document, believed to be written by Hamas’ military intelligence in early 2024, outlines a cynical and brutal strategy: use Israeli hostages not just for negotiation, but as weapons of psychological warfare aimed directly at Israeli society and government.

The strategy confirms long-held suspicions in Israel: Hamas has no genuine interest in ending the war. Instead, the group’s priorities are to rebuild its military strength, increase international pressure on Israel, and destabilize Israeli public opinion by deliberately tormenting families of hostages.
