In a decree, 'supreme leader' Khamenei emphasized the need "to exploit the capacities" of the Navy, the Army and other military forces. Yesterday, Iran announced that it welcomed the changing of the regime in Afghanistan. A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry announced that Tehran is closely monitoring what is occurring in Afghanistan, maintains ties with all sides, and condemns all acts of violence.
The new president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, said that his country is committed to neighborly relations with Afghanistan and that the military defeat and withdrawal by the U.S. is "an opportunity to restore life, security and durable peace in Afghanistan."
