Today, four Hamas terrorists who were released from prison there long before they had finished serving their sentences arrived on a private plane from Libya to Turkey.
They are Marwan Abdel-Qader Al-Ashkar, who has a doctorate in environmental sciences, Nasib Muhammad Shabeir, a master's degree student in engineering, Mu'aid Jamal Abed, a master's degree student in engineering and Bara' Marwan al-Ashkar, also an engineering student.
The four were arrested during 2016 following information from the US about their involvement in the smuggling of ammunition to the Gaza Strip. In 2019, they were sentenced to between 17 and 22 years in prison after being convicted of "establishing a secret foreign organization on Libyan soil, possessing weapons, conspiring against state security and smuggling weapons."
After the war in Gaza began on October 7, many calls were made in Libya to release them from prison and that is what happened.
From the story of the four, we can also learn something about the financing methods of Hamas, which under the guise of supposedly innocent business engages in terrorism and murder. Marwan al-Ashkar, was the head of a technological equipment company in Tripoli, and he employed the other three terrorists part-time at the same time as their academic studies.
