Talking last night to TV Channel 14, Dr. Kobby Barda, a NEWSRAEL Contributor and an expert in American political history at HIT Holon, assessed that Trump has a strong chance of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to Dr. Barda, "It looks like all the circumstances are aligning for Trump to finally achieve what he's been pursuing—a Nobel Prize. My estimate is that the likelihood is very high. He brokered the Abraham Accords, led peace efforts between Uganda and Congo, and pushed for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. With the current global shifts, the world looks very different today.”
Barda noted that Trump was not awarded the prize after the Abraham Accords in part due to the Capitol riot in January 2021. However, he is now an official nominee. “The recommendation was submitted on time by Professor Anat Alon Beck,” Barda said, adding, “If a hostage deal in Gaza is signed, that could seal it.”
He also explained that Trump’s focus on the Middle East stems from a broader strategy: “He aims to dominate the AI sector, which requires control over both energy and rare minerals. This explains his deal with Saudi Arabia, involvement in Ukraine, the attempt to acquire Greenland—and also the peace agreement between Congo and Rwanda, which gives him access to those resources.”
