It is still fresh but it seems that one big winner in the Arab world can be marked in relation to what happened in Syria - Qatar.
This Gulf state, due to its inclination towards the Muslim Brotherhood, has taken a hard line towards the Assad regime since the start of the civil war in 2011.
The Qataris boycotted the Assad regime on the grounds that it was a bloody regime and remained the only ones in the Arab world who refused to re-normalize the Assad regime even though countries such as Saudi Arabia and the Emirates did so.
What does that mean The forces that overthrew Assad are diverse, with different views and different allies, but it seems that Qatar will "win points" with the new rulers in Syria.
This does not mean that Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries will not have a foothold in Syria, but it does mean that Qatar will certainly have an influence and probably a priority in all that has been said to rebuild the devastated country.
