Thousands of Iranians are reportedly using motorcycles to transport fuel across the border into Pakistan’s Balochistan region, forming what locals describe as a “mobile pipeline” of gasoline deliveries.
The activity comes as Pakistan faces fuel shortages and higher prices, while in Iran, economic pressure, unemployment, and rising costs have pushed many to seek income through cross-border smuggling. Large crowds have been seen waiting with canisters near the border to obtain cheaper Iranian fuel.
The phenomenon underscores the growing economic hardship inside Iran, where sanctions, internal mismanagement, and wartime pressures are fueling black-market activity and informal economies along its borders.
