Reports say UNRWA informed staff this is its final month of operations in Gaza
Reports from Gaza claim UNRWA has told its employees that this will be the organization’s last month of activity in the Strip and that its assets have been frozen.
According to the reports, the move follows Israeli legislative action aimed at shutting down UNRWA operations. Israeli Knesset member Dan Illouz, one of the initiators of the law to close UNRWA, responded by calling the development “a moral and historic victory.” Illouz said he is proud to have led what he described as a historic law that “put an end to a terror enterprise that educated toward hatred, hid terrorists, and perpetuated the conflict,” adding that UNRWA has served as “a Hamas incubator under a humanitarian guise.”
