David Hermelin, managing director of CPDH and former president of Young Likud Congress, presented his analysis of Israel's current political situation and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's prospects.
He explained that while many believe Netanyahu's support base will shift to alternative right-wing parties, the reality shows that a majority of Israelis still prefer Netanyahu as Prime Minister over other realistic candidates.
David identified that approximately 20 seats in the Knesset represent potential Netanyahu supporters who don't like his current Likud party list, creating a risk that these voters might not support him if they perceive the party as unattractive.
He discussed Netanyahu's efforts to influence the party's primary system and list selection process to make Likud more appealing to potential voters. David also noted that recent developments, including judicial findings that key charges against Netanyahu lack stable evidence, have removed previous obstacles to forming a unity government.
