A delegation from the PA, headed by Azzam Ahmed (PLO's head of the Lebanon file), is expected to arrive in Beirut this week on behalf of Abu Mazen.
The delegation will meet with Lebanese authorities dealing with the issue of collecting weapons in the camps.
The first phase of the operation will begin on June 16 in the Shatila, Mar Elias, and Burj al-Barajneh camps, and will later include the remaining camps starting July 1.
The most dangerous of these is Ain al-Hilweh, due to the presence of armed groups outside the PLO's jurisdiction (Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad - PIJ), which enjoy an independent military presence, given the lack of any communication between them and the central Palestinian leadership.
