DORON PESKIIN -- It should be noted that this information is based on Egyptian sources, so it should be treated with caution.
Senior officials in the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum are quoted today in the Arab press saying that the gas supply from Israel is heading for a severe crisis.
According to them, Israel has turned the renewed gas agreement from July 2025 into a "political card" against the backdrop of the dispute surrounding the Gaza Strip. According to the Egyptians, instead of supplying 1.3 billion cubic feet per day as agreed, Israel is transferring only about 850 million cubic feet.
The Egyptians claim that the excuse Israel uses of "technical problems" to explain the low supply is irrelevant and that it is now a political decision.
