IDF spokesperson: In a surprise format - exercise "Warm Winter 2" was launched to improve the readiness of IDF units for combat in the northern arena
Exercise 'Warm Winter 2' began this evening (Saturday) in a surprise format and will continue until Tuesday. The purpose of the exercise is to strengthen the readiness of the end units in the IDF and the supporting logistical system, for explosive events and various scenarios in the northern arena.
The multi-armed exercise is led by the Technology and Logistics Division led by the head of the Technology and Logistics Division, Major General Michel Janko. In the exercise, IDF units from the battalion level, in brigades, divisions, commands, wings and even at the general staff level will practice.
About 8,000 soldiers in regular service and about 5,000 reservists, recruited by special orders, from the various IDF units will take part in the exercise.
