Arab sources claim that the Trump administration is increasing pressure on Lebanon and Syria and prohibiting Qatar and Saudi Arabia from providing any financial support to these two countries despite their current plight.
According to the sources, the Americans are demanding that the leaders of both countries implement a list of demands they announced in the past before they can receive aid money from the wealthy Gulf states.
Regarding Lebanon, the sources claim that the American administration is prohibiting financial aid as part of the pressure intended to bring an end to the conflict with Israel, including the disarmament of Hezbollah.
After the signing of a unilateral ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon last year, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have offered to help rebuild Beirut.
