Eighty-one senior reserve officers have sent a letter to IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, calling on him to impose a full siege on Gaza City and push for a decisive military outcome, even at the risk of the hostages’ lives.
The officers emphasized that such a step is essential to break Hamas’s remaining strongholds and end the prolonged conflict.
The signatories further warned that without this clear and determined directive, the reserve soldiers—who are carrying much of the burden of the war—will lack the sense of purpose and meaning they desperately need on the battlefield.
Their message reflects growing frustration within Israel’s military ranks, as calls mount for leadership to take bolder action.
